Sunday






 Sara and I decided to take off to visit Aunt Rose for a few days. Jacob was a world class traveler and was terrific in the airport and on the plane. Sara was pretty good in the plane too. The guy across the aisle was a worried/anxious traveler and I saw him pulling his seat belt so tight on himself I wondered if he could breath. Then he was checking under the seat for the life vest. It makes me feel better when I know I am not the worst traveler on the plane.

We were happily met by Aunt Rose just outside the baggage claim (we love small airports). So after Jacob checked out every hand sanitizer and rest room we were off.


Breakfast on the porch anyone?




After a lovely time having coffee and yogurt and watching birds we got dressed and headed out to the playground at just about the hottest part of the day. Jake had some time on a swing while Aunt Rose and I got a few letterboxes. Then it was off to lunch at Chick fi la




While Sara and Jacob napped Rose and I went letterboxing and shopping.  Mooresville seems to have the highest number of drive by boxes in the world!
By the time we were done Sara and Jake were up and it was time for dinner. Every place we went to eat at was packed and we ended up at big tiny's for BBQ. I forgot to take a photo there so Jake suggested I take one in the car. So here he is! And he thought I should be in one too, so here's an extra!

And we learned that we can follow Owens trip to the top of the world in Africa.


Tuesday ..  ...
Our big plan for today was to get to the post office to get Aunt Rose a new passport. We looked it up, it said walk ins welcome, we drove the 35 min to the library to drop off Sara and Jake and when we got to the post office they said we needed and appointment. Ripped off!
So we went to lunch after visiting the library

Yup, you guessed it...


And where does he like to spend time?

We wrapped up the day with some walks to the water and Chinese food for dinner and Bundt cakes and Mickey ice cream and coffee cake and sorbet for dessert and plenty of good chat on the porch.



Wednesday 
Sara and I were up and out early, laying with the wind chimes and looking at birds,  and took Aunt Rose's car and off to the playground we went. This place even had a water splash pad. 











When we got home from shopping Aunt Rose and I found this in the yard. From the car it looked like a golf ball

Tonight I got my 5000th letterbox and we all celebrated. Dinner and drinks and then a few more boxes in the parking lot. Fun all around!











Thursday
Last day. Blah
Fun start though! Jake got a driving lesson and got to go forward AND reverse in a small jeep. Then it was down to the lake for a while before heading out to lunch and yes, another letterbox. 










Jake was dancing and was wearing my glasses. He got dizzy from spinning while he danced and found the whole experience entertaining.

And yesterday's golf ball mushroom turned into an umbrella

 What a way to celebrate Owen's birthday!   Birthday Guy!!!!   What a great way to celebrate Owen's birthday! drag him all around the Bronx Zoo with his family.  Who wouldn't love that????  WE LOVED IT!     We saw the usual things, birds, bugs, monkeys, the carousal  all that stuff.  We took a ride on the monorail, we ate lunch, we had cake!!!!   Who could ask for more?  Happy Birthday Owen!  Thanks for sharing it with us!

Ramirez RI Recap

 Here are some photos from the Ramirez family’s phones during our Rhode Island trip, which only had a few because we were too busy having fun!  Grandma and Owen would read to Hannah at night Emma and Sara got to go out for a manicure/pedicure morning  Beach naps were the best Hannah loved stomping the water and going as far as being waist-deep in the waves  Grandma snuggles  Hannah’s first pigtail hair style!  A wonderful week for sure  Some of Hannah’s favorite phrases of the week were “chicken stuck” (in her teeth), “worm bites” (inexplicable where that came from) “Ice cream Truck” and all day long singing a variety of songs but in particular the “are we there yet?” call and response verse.  Some of Jakes favorites phrases were “Bamboo!!!”, “it’s heavy”,  pointing out any and all number 7s or letter Vs, and he really loves checking out fire hydrants and sewer drains on our nightly walks. Disney! Oct 14-17

 Disney delights! We didn't spend our time in Disney blogging, but I didn't want to have the trip pass without notice, so here's our back-blog (is that a word?) Sara and I had such a great time in Disney the year before, and the only things missing were Emma and Hannah, so we wanted to get another trip in before flying became an pregnancy issue.  What a great idea!  We all fit in one room and we stayed in the Disney Sports resorts.  Getting two car seats in our rental car was the ususal hassel but I'm pretty good at entertaining the kids while the new moms fight with straps and buckles and clips.  We upped our game this time and ordered food ahead of time to be picked up on our way to the hotel - Gosh we are SO smart.  Of course, we over ordered and again had more food then we could eat, but whatever...   Day 1 - after settling into the room, we boarded the bus to go to Disney Springs.   It was not snowing this time but it was still fun.  We ...
